The Zimbabweans are at a comfortable score of 191 for the loss of 3 wickets at the end of 40 overs. The hosts need 33 runs to win from 60 balls at an easy required run rate of 3.3. Sean Williams and Brendan Taylor played a pivotal role in scoring most of the runs and thwarting the Afghan bowlers, only a couple of whom had economy rates below 5.

Local boy Williams, who is on 61 as of now, reached his fifteenth One-Day International half-century when he hit Dawlat Zadran for a four off the last ball of the 37th over.  He has been well-supported by Elton Chigumbura, who played a supportive 50-ball 27.

Shapoor and Dawlat Zadran, who grabbed two quick wickets to put pressure on the hosts, failed to repeat their magic in their second spell.
