The T20 World Cup-winning Indian team will finally have an actual World Cup winner in their side as Shivam Dube joins their side for the third T20I match on Wednesday, 10 July. India levelled their 5-match T20I series against Zimbabwe on Sunday, 7 July with a crushing 100-run victory against Sikandar Raza’s side in the second match of the series. Abhishek Sharma and Ruturaj Gaikwad starred in the game with a 137-run partnership which blew the hosts away in the first innings of the game itself.
The Indian team has also brought in the likes of Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who were a part of the T20 World Cup winning squad but didn’t play a single game.
The Indian team have a problem at their hands as they will try to provide game-time to as many players as possible. It will be quite tricky to include both Jaiswal and Samson in the same XI.
The pitch at the Harare Sports Club has been double paced throughout. Good length balls have been tricky to negotiate, while fuller length balls have been hit out of the park.
India: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill (c), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Riyan Parag, Rinku Singh, Sanju Samson (wk), Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Mukesh Kumar
Zimbabwe: Wessly Madhevere, Innocent Kaia, Brian Bennett, Sikandar Raza (c), Dion Myers, Johnathan Campbell, Clive Madande (wk), Wellington Masakadza, Luke Jongwe/Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani, Tendai Chatara
