Scotland takes on Zimbabwe in the Group B qualifying match of the ICC World T20 2016 at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur. Scotland fought valiantly in their first encounter against Afghanistan, but fell short by 14 runs. On the other hand, Zimbabwe put on a good show and held their nerves to fight off the spirited Hong Kong side, beating them by 14 runs. For Scotland, this will be a must win game, knowing the fact they will be certainly knocked out if they don’t come out victorious against today’s opponents. But Zimbabwe will be no walkovers considering a victory for the African side will all but guarantee their entry into Super 10 and entry into a group consisting of England, Sri Lanka, West Indies and South Africa. Scotland will look up to their top order to fire again and give their side a good start. HG Munsey and KJ Coetzer produced a 84 run partnership in the game against Aghanistan to give their side a perfect platform in their 171 run chase. But Scotland’s concern will be their bowling attack, which shelled out 170 runs. If they are to give their batting line-up a real shot at victory, the bowling must improve at all fronts.

On the other side, Zimabwe put a complete performance in their 14 run victory over Honk Kong. From scoring a respectable 158 while batting first, their bowling limited the opposition to 144 in their full quota of overs. The only worry for Zimbabwe in this game would be the batting of Scotland. Having seen them score 156 against Afghanistan, Zimbabwe may need to get more runs in order to give their bowlers a competitive chance.

One of the most significant battle to look out for in this game would be between Vusi Sibanda and Alasdair Evans. Sibanda produced a brilliant batting display in the game against Hong Kong to score 59. On the other hand, Evans bowled beautifully against Afghanistan when all the others were taken apart. His figures of 4-24-1 in a match where bowlers were going over 8 runs per over, showed he will be very critical. The flow of the match will be decided by this battle. If Sibanda gets going, Zimbabwe will be up for a good score.
