Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka meet for the first of the two-Test series to be played at Harare Sports Club, Harare. The live streaming will take forward the series between minnows, Zimbabwe, and Sri Lanka who showed immense character in fighting out with Australia at home in July-August 2016. Since 2013, this is the first time that Zimbabwe have got a chance to host another two-Test series, with their first visitors being New Zealand. Lots have changed for the hosts ever since their last Test series. Struggling for a long time to keep their space in world cricket, Zimbabwe have now gone through a lot of changes in their team management and will hope for their former skipper, Heath Streak to revive their fortunes being their head coach. Makhayan Ntini, who was their interim coach during India and New Zealand’s tour, has taken over as bowling coach. With roles being clearer, the new -look side will like to begin from scratch against Sri Lanka.
Zimbabwe’s main weapons will be Craig Ervine, Sean Williams, skipper Graeme Cremer, Sikandar Raza and Hamilton Masakadza. From Sri Lanka’s point of view, they have also gone through a lot of changes with senior pros Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal missing out on the tour. They will be led by 39-year0old, Rangana Herath. It will be the senior man’s first assignment as skipper and he will be eager to make a mark with a young side against low-lying Zimbabwe.
