Ashton Agar is an Australian cricketer who was born to a Sri-Lankan mother and an Australian father, who was a former grade cricketer in Victoria.

Agar encrypted his name in the history of cricket, when he smashed 98 runs in his Test debut in the Ashes against England at Trent Bridge. Madeleine Hay, his girlfriend, is a law student at the University of Western Australia. Madeleine is a fan of Agar’s cricketing abilities and was there in the stands when he made his Test debut. In fact, even Madeleine’s father, Al is a huge admirer of the Australian all-rounder.

His fortune changed, when Michael Clarke decided to include a rookie in the playing XI ahead of an experienced Nathan Lyon, who was also there in the squad, for the opening Test of the 2013 Ashes in England. He was picked as a left-arm spinner, but it was his batting which made all the headlines. Australia were almost out and done at 117 for nine when Agar joined Phil Hughes at the crease, but the duo had other ideas in their mind as they registered 163 runs stand for the last wicket , with Agar scoring 98 from 101 deliveries.

Agar made Twenty20 debut for the Perth Scorchers in the 2013 Champions League T20 (CLT20), in India. At present Agar plays for Perth Scorchers and Western Australia, where he made his First-Class debut in 2013.
