The Asia Cup 2025 begins on September 9, marking the third time after 2016 and 2022 that the tournament will be played in the T20 format. This edition offers Indian bowlers a chance to make history, with Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh closing in on a milestone no Indian bowler has achieved before.
Arshdeep Singh One Wicket Away from History
Arshdeep Singh, India’s standout T20I pacer since debuting in 2022, has already claimed 99 wickets in 63 matches. He needs just one more wicket to become the first Indian bowler to reach 100 T20I wickets, a landmark in his young career.
Hardik Pandya Closing in on 100 Wickets
Hardik Pandya, who made his T20I debut in 2016, has taken 94 wickets in 114 matches. With only six wickets remaining, he is set to become the second Indian bowler to reach the 100-wicket milestone in T20 internationals.

Bumrah chasing the milestone too
Jasprit Bumrah, with 89 wickets, can also reach the milestone if he takes 11 wickets in the Asia Cup 2025.
India’s first match on 10 September
India will begin their Asia Cup 2025 campaign on September 10 against UAE, face Pakistan on September 14, and conclude group matches versus Oman on September 19. Every T20 game will be crucial for their title bid.
