Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi create history
The ninth match of the 2025 Pakistan Super League was played between the Peshawar Zalmi and the Multan Sultans on April 19. The former went on to win the encounter by a mammoth margin of 120 runs.

This is the biggest win margin in PSL history
Before Peshawar Zalmi, the record was held by the Lahore Qalandars, who defeated Islamabad United by a margin of 119 runs in the 2023 PSL season. The side led by Babar Azam beat the record by just a single run.

This was the first win of PSL 2025 for Peshawar Zalmi
After losing their first 2 matches of the ongoing season, the side led by Babar finally recorded their first win of the campaign and it came against the Multan Sultans.

The batters performed really well
The Peshawar Zalmi batting order gave a stunning performance against the Multan Sultans. Tom Kohler-Cadmore (52) smacked a brilliant fifty before Mohammad Haris (45), Hussain Talat (37), Mitchell Owen (34) and Abdul Samad (40) played valiant knocks, carrying the Peshawar-based franchise’s to 227/7 in 20 overs.

Bowlers proved to be quite impressive as well
The Peshawar Zalmi bowlers performed brilliantly against the Multan Sultans. Ali Raza picked up 4 wickets and Arif Yaqoob picked up 3 as Peshawar-based franchise bowled out the opposition for just 107 runs in 15.5 overs.

The team ended up losing their very next PSL team
The Peshawar Zalmi fans must have expected their side to go on a run following their hammering victory over the Multan Sultans, however the opposite ended up happening. In their next match, the Peshawar-based franchise ended up losing against the Karachi Kings by 2 wickets.
