Sanju Samson has been ruled out of RCB clash
The Rajasthan Royals have confirmed that skipper Sanju Samson will not be participating in the side’s upcoming clash against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 24. The match is set to be played at the M Chinnaswamy stadium.
Samson suffered an injury against the Delhi Capitals
The RR skipper suffered an abdominal injury during his side’s previous IPL match against the Delhi Capitals on April 16. After playing a decent inning of 31 runs, Samson was forced to retire hurt and didn’t come out to bat in the super over whch took plce later in the match.

Riyan Parag set to take up leadership duties in Samson’s place
Just like how he captained the side in the first 3 matches of the ongoing season in Samson’s absence, Parag will be leading the Rajasthan-based franchise in their upcoming clash against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Previous thumb injury hampered Samson’s participation in early stages of IPL 2025
Earlier in the season, Samson participated solely as a batter for RR’s first 3 matches. This was due to the thumb injury that he was recovering from during that time.
Samson is currently recovering at the franchise’s base
After recently sustaining the abdominal injury, Samson has remained under medical observation at the franchise’s home base. RR confirmed that he will continue his recovery under the supervision of the team’s medical staff and thus, won’t travel with the side to Bengaluru.
Samson’s return to the side is uncertain
The Rajasthan-based franchise’s team management have adopted a cautious approach in assessing Samson’s fitness. There is no guarantee as to whether the RR skipper will return following the clash against RCB either.
