MS Dhoni is going to be the first uncapped player to lead a team in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Since he played his last international match for India more than 5 years ago, he was retained as an uncapped player for Rs. 4 crore.
Regular skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out of IPL 2025 due to a fractured elbow, and Dhoni will lead CSK for the remaining IPL 2025.
