Glenn Maxwell is a testament to the unconventional, unorthodox yet effective style of batting. He has the sumptuous ability to score runs at a vigorous pace. He is one batsman who can turn the course of the game in a matter of few deliveries. He put his skills again on display during the ongoing fourth One-Day International (ODI) against England at Leeds with his stroke-filled 64-ball 85. His innings was all the more special as it came when Australia needed it the most. Placed precariously at 30/3, the Aussies were bailed out by ‘The Big Show’, whose scintillating knock took them to a safe total of 299.

Maxwell has a number of unorthodox shots in his textbook and that is his strength but at times his strength tends to become his weakness. And something similar happened in this game as well. Gareth Copley of Getty Images captured this awful moment for Maxwell when his stumps were shattered in an attempt to play his signature reverse sweep. Indubitably, it is one of the best captured pictures by the shutterbugs.

The Australians are well placed at the moment. But one can expect a heck of an encounter as England have enough ammunition in their batting line-up to chase the target down on a flat wicket of Leeds.
