‘Got some time…’: Jasprit Bumrah on India T20 setup as they begin their Asia Cup preparations

Indian team has begun their Asia Cup preparations in Dubai. Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah joined the T20I setup after a long while and expressed his happiness on doing so.

Indian national side is going to begin their Asia Cup campaign with their tournament opener against United Arab Emirates (UAE) on September 10. This is going to be the first international assignment after the heroic 2-2 series draw in the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy in England.

Within the senior players, Jasprit Bumrah was one who was specially in high spirits after returning to the T20I squad since the 2024 World Cup final in Bridgetown. “It feels really good to join the T20 group after a long time. This three-week window was really good, got some time at home,” he said.

This is the first time also that the short-format players like Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Verma, Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson have rejoined with the players like Shubman Gill, pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh along with spinner Kuldeep Yadav- who are active in the longer (Test) format of the game.
