IND vs ENG: 5 centuries in a single Test match, A First-time occurrence in History of Indian cricket

As India and England are facing each other for a five-match Test series, the first match ended up with the visitors making record. For the first time in history of Indian cricket, the Indian team has scored five centuries in a single Test match.

India and England are engaged in an interesting Test match at Leeds. The batters of the national side have done wonders in this match, as a total of 5 centuries have been slammed by Indian batters. In the history of Indian cricket, this is the first time that this many tons have been scored in a single match. Let’s look at all the centurions, and how many runs they scored.

1) Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal was the first one who scored a century in Leeds. This was a historic ton as well. Jaiswal came out to open the first innings, and played a spectacular outing of 101 runs, where he faced 159 balls and hit 16 fours and a six.

2) Shubman Gill

Following Yashasvi Jaiswal, captain Shubman Gill was the next player who opened his bat in the first innings. Gill played in a calm and composed manner, and scored 147 runs, where he faced 227 balls and hit 19 fours and a six.

3)Rishabh Pant

Star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant slammed a century in the first innings. Even though his outing was filled with silly shots, Pant still ended with a 134-run knock, where he faced 178 balls and hit 12 fours and 2 sixes.

4) KL Rahul

Fourth century in the Leeds Test was hit by KL Rahul. Rahul failed to do well in the first innings, but came back strong and played an impressive 137-run knock in the second innings, where he faced 247 balls and hit 18 fours.

5) Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant also did wonder with the bat in the second innings. The second innings saw him playing a bit more safer shots, and he scored 118 runs in 140 balls accompanied by 15 fours and 3 sixes.
