India successfully turned the tide in their favour after losses in the One-Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) series against South Africa by finally winning the four-match Test series 3-0 with one ending in a draw. After the series win, they have now moved to the second place in the ICC Test rankings.
Virat Kohli-led team India have fared well so far as this is the second series win for the new Test captain in as many series and will definitely be a confidence booster for the whole team. Ajinkya Rahane played exceptionally well and was the lone centurion in the entire series. In fact, with his two centuries in both the innings of Delhi Test, he also became the fifth Indian batsman to have scored a century in both the innings of a Test match.
This Test was heavily dominated by India though South African batsmen possessed immense resistance but a victory was always on the cards for the hosts. Chasing 481 was never an easy task in the fourth innings against Indian spinners. Ravichandran Ashwin chipped in with five wickets whereas Umesh Yadav had three South African scalps to his name. Ravindra Jadeja too contributed with couple of wickets which included the prize wicket of Hashim Amla.
The above picture was clicked when the final wicket of Morne Morkel was picked and India registered a thumping 337 runs victory. Kohli can be seen celebrating with the timber in his end which he would love to keep as a souvenir for winning on his home soil. The skipper looks all rejuvenated after an overall captivating performance.
