This massive score came from the explosive batting by Abhishek Sharma, who powered India to register their highest-ever score in powerplay.

India’s 95/1 against England in the fifth and final T20I at Wankhede Stadium is the all-time highest score during the powerplay overs of the shortest format of the game.
The Indian team had registered their second-highest powerplay in T20I against Bangladesh in 2024, where the Men in Blue had poste 82/1 during the first six overs in Hyderabad.
The third-highest score in powerplay overs by India came in 2021 against Scotland in Dubai, where the Men in Blue posted a score of 82/2 in the first six overs.
Indian team had also scored 78/2 against South Africa during powerplay in Johannesburg in 2018. This score comes as India’s fourth-largest T20I total in powerplay overs.
