The 20-team rugby world cup, that is underway in England, is one of the most talked-about things at the moment. The matches being played so far have generated a lot of viewership across the globe. Fan frenzy for the tournament is slowly peaking as it progresses and the media buzz in the participating countries is going strong. One team, however, that has managed to grab the maximum spotlight is the underdogs Japan.
The Asian nation recently made the headlines when they beat heavyweights South Africa, in a game that will probably go down as one of the classic matches in the history of the World Cup. The moment japan won the encounter, they started trending on social media and became the toast of the world. After winning the intense match, Japan looks a different team. The body language of the players looks more confident. It was evident from a recent pic from the team’s practice session that surfaced.
In the pic, Japan’s head coach Eddie Jones (centre) is seen hitting the rugby ball with a cricket bat. The team is exuding confidence and looks ready to take future battles. Hope the team takes a leaf out of Bangladesh’s book, who are cricket underdogs and doing exceedingly well at the moment, and emulate their performance in rugby.
