Massive relief for India as England name their Playing XI for 2nd Test without recalling their star pacer

England named their playing XI for the 2nd Test against India. This is a massive relief for the hosts as there is no change in the team.

England cricket team named their playing XI for the second Test of the five-match series against India- which is set to begin July 2nd at the Edgbaston Cricket Stadium in Birmingham. The hosts are leading the series 1-0, as they gained an upper hand during the final 2 innings of the Leeds Test.

The English team being revealed has come as an anti-climatic announcement as there was no place for Jofra Archer. It was widely being predicted that the star player would finally play a Test match after four long years. However, England have named an unchanged playing XI. Jofra Archer was named in the squad, but could not make in to the XI.

Archer was set to make it to the playing XI, but did not feature in the net sessions. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) stated that Archer missed due to a family emergency. There is no statement about the situation on whether the pacer would be picked if the personal situation had not been there.
