Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have failed to reach the IPL 2025 playoffs. They became the first team who got eliminated from the race and have failed to qualify for the playoffs for 2 years in a row.
Shivam Dube has been taken as the biggest villain of CSK for failing to reach the playoffs this year. Dube had scored just 6 runs when CS lost to Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their last clash on 30th April.

Ahead of the IPL 2025 mega-auctions, Shivam Dube was retained by CSK for Rs. 12 crore. The franchise only paid Rs. 4 crore to retain their current skipper MS Dhoni as an ‘uncapped’ player.
Shivam Dube plays as an ‘impact player’ and hardly gets to do any bowling. He has managed to score only 248 runs in 10 matches that he played. Dube has also scored a single half-century.
CSK is currently at the bottom of the IPL points table, as they have only 2 wins in 10 matches, and their captain MS Dhoni hasscored only 151 runs with a strike rate of 148 in this season.
