Jasprit Bumrah’s workload management has been a hot topic to be discussed about since the 2024-25 Australia series. Even now, before the England tour started, head coach Gautam Gambhir had clarified that the star pacer is going to appear in only three out of five matches in the series. As of now, three matches have been held, and Bumrah missed the 2nd match- which was held in Edgbaston.

However, India’s assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate believes that apart from Jasprit Bumrah, another player who needs to have his workload managed carefully according to the amount of cricket he plays is Bumrah’s pace bowling partner Mohammed Siraj.

It is equally important to manage the workload of someone like Mohammed Siraj, who is always ready to bowl those extra overs, like Stokes did on day five at Lord’s,” Ryan said during a media conference.

We take for granted how lucky we are to have someone like that. I know he doesn’t always have the returns that you expect from a fast bowler, but in terms of heart, he’s like a lion and what he brings to this bowling attack, whenever he does have the ball in hand, you always feel like something’s going to happen,” he added.

With England leading the series 2-1, Indian side will have to give it their all in order to stay in contention. On that note, Ryan stated that the management will lean towards taking Jasprit Bumrah for the Manchester Test. “We know we have got him for one of the last two Tests. It’s pretty obvious that the series on the line now in Manchester so there will be a leaning towards playing him,” he said.
