‘Not thinking about…’: Indian star pacer’s Massive statement after destroying England’s defense in 2nd Test

After he bagged important wickets of strong England batters, Indian star pacer Akash Deep stated that he is unsure of getting chance to play the next match.

The head of Indian team’s pace attack for 2nd Test against England- Akash Deep- led the side elegantly, but is unsure about the chance of making it to the playing XI of the next match at Lord’s. Akash had secured his place in the XI of the ongoing second match in Edgbaston since Jasprit Bumrah was rested for his heavy workload.

With Jasprit Bumrah being absent from the match, Akash Deep led the pace bowling side and made a strong case for him- as he bagged four wickets in the first innings. Akash caused chaos with the new ball- even dismissing Player of The Match Ben Duckett, followed by dismissing Ollie Pope for a golden duck.

On the 3rd day, Akash Deep broke past defense of Harry Brook (158), breaking his record 303-run partnership with Jamie Smith (184*). Akash then ended Chris Woakes’ innings.

We have only two days for this Test match, and this match is very important for us to win. So, I am not thinking about the third match at all. I believe that I have to put my energy in these two days. After that, I will consider it. The team will decide whether I will play or not. No, not at all. I don’t know if I’ll play. The team makes this decision. We get to know one day before the game,” Akash said after the end of the day’s play.

Since his debut in February last year, opportunities have been limited for Akash Deep. Before this England series, he played two matches in a five-Test series against Australia, twice in three home games against New Zealand and both matches against Bangladesh.
