Punjab Kings batter Shashank Singh has stated that the team managed to secure the top two position in the Indian Premier league (IPL) 2025 with a great amount of efforts, but their work is not done yet, and they have their eyes on winning the trophy.
Punjab Kings beat Mumbai Indians, securing their place at the top two in the playoffs. This is going to give them a chance to reach the finals. If they manage to do so, it will be the first time in 11 years that the team will reach the final of the tournament.
During the post-match press conference Shashank said, “It is really a wonderful feeling. The best thing is that we achieved this through collective effort. Right after the auction, we created a WhatsApp group and talked about winning the title this year. Our first goal was to finish in the top two and we have achieved it.”

Shashank said that believing in themselves and doing hard work were the key moments in turning this dream of his to reality. “Expressing your point is one thing and believing in it is another. We have worked hard for this and the credit goes to everyone associated with Punjab Kings. It is not easy to be in the top two in a league like IPL,” he said.
Shashank said, “The job is not done just by finishing in the top two. We want to win the trophy. When we sit in the press conference at 12 am on June 4 after winning the title, I can say that yes, we are on top of the world.”
