Pakistan, New Zealand teams and match officials paid their tributes by observing a two minute’s silence to mourn for the victims of a terror attack by Taliban gunmen on an army-run school in Peshawar, Pakistan.

The teams showed their solidarity for the 141 victims, 132 of them school children, ahead of the fourth day-night One Day International between the two countries at the Zayed International Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on December 17, 2014.

Shahid Afridi, the stand-in Pakistan captain, said the team was “shocked and hurt”.

“It is a national tragedy and a barbaric act and honestly playing the match is going to be very difficult,” former Pakistan captain Younis Khan said on Geo Super channel.
