Pat Cummins creates History: First time in IPL that a captain has achieved THIS great feat
During the Indian Premier League 2025 clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals, SRH captain Pat Cummins destroyed the DC top-order and secured a great record. Cummins secured 3 wickets in the powerplay, and became the first ever team captain in IPL history to achieve this feat.

Pat Cummins has secured his place at number one. He took 3 wickets in the first 6 overs during the match against Delhi Capitals. This is the first time that a captain has taken 3 wickets while bowling in the powerplay.

The name of Delhi Capitals captain Akshar Patel comes at number two. Akshar Patel took 2 wickets for 10 runs while bowling in the powerplay in the match against RCB in IPL 2025.
3) Zaheer Khan
While captaining Delhi Capitals in IPL 2017, Zaheer Khan bowled brilliantly in the powerplay against Kolkata Knight Riders, taking 2 wickets for 13 runs.
4) Shaun Pollock
While captaining Mumbai Indians in IPL 2008, Shaun Pollock wreaked havoc with the ball in the powerplay. Pollock took the wickets of 2 big batsmen by giving away just 13 runs in the powerplay.
5) Zaheer Khan
Zaheer Khan did this feat against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2017. Zaheer took 2 wickets for 18 runs in the powerplay against KKR.
