Battling through injury, Pant played a brilliant knock to complete his half-century in 87 balls. However, his outstanding innings came to an end just before lunch, as he was run out after scoring 74 runs.

With this fifty, Rishabh Pant achieved a significant milestone in Test cricket. He has now become the wicketkeeper-batsman with the most 50-plus scores in SENA countries. With this feat, Pant has equaled the record of former Indian captain MS Dhoni.

Pant smashed 13th fifty in SENA countries

This is Rishabh Pant’s 13th fifty in SENA countries. Mahendra Singh Dhoni has also scored 13 half-centuries in these conditions. In comparison, Sri Lanka’s Dinesh Chandimal, India’s Farokh Engineer, and Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan have scored 7 half-centuries each in SENA countries. With this achievement, Pant has now surpassed all of them.
