Rohit Sharma surpasses Sachin Tendulkar: Fastest batters to reach 11000 ODI runs

An elite list of batters, who secured 11,000 runs in ODI cricket in the shortest amount of innings. Rohit Sharma recently secured his name in the list with Champions Trophy clash against Bangladesh.

There have been only a handful of batters who have scored 11,000 runs in One-Day international matches. Till now, there were only 9 players. However, with today’s Champions Trophy clash between India and Bangladesh, the list has seen a new name being added, that too on the top-side of the position. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma secured himself the second position on player to have reached the milestone. Here is the list of top batters to reach 11,000 ODI runs:

Virat Kohli

India’s star batter Virat Kohli is at the top of the record list. He reached the milestone in 222 innings, on 16 June 2019 against Pakistan in Manchester. Kohli has a total of 13,963 runs in the format, with 73 fifties and 50 centuries to his name.

Rohit Sharma

Indian Test and ODI skipper Rohit Sharma has secured himself the second position in the list with the Champions Trophy clash against Bangladesh. Rohit reached this feat in 261 innings, on 20 February 2025 against Bangladesh in Dubai.

Sachin Tendulkar

India’s legendary ‘Master blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar was at the second position, but now has been demoted to the third spot. He reached this achievement in 276 innings, on 28 January 2002 against England in Kanpur.

Ricky Ponting

Australia’s legendary player Ricky Ponting is the only non-Indian player who is in the top 5 players of this list. He reached this achievement in 286 inning, on 24 February 2008 against India in Sydney.

Sourav Ganguly
