They have shared dressing rooms for many years and have formed several match-winning partnerships but on Saturday, they found themselves in different camps. Sachin Tendulkar is the mentor of Mumbai Indians (MI), while VVS Laxman is playing the same role for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and their sides played each other Indian Premier League (IPL). Yesterday marked the 42nd birthday of the batting legend Tendulkar and millions around the world of social media.

It was a moment to savour as the two former India greats were caught together having a chat. The memories the duo have given to Indian cricket are aplenty. Even after their retirement, both the cricketers are providing their services to the cities where it all began from them. Tendulkar has been with MI, right from the inception of IPL – first as a player and now a mentor, while Laxman also has spent many years with Hyderabad, first with Deccan Chargers and now SRH.

Tendulkar and Laxman have always enjoyed a good friendship, however it was former’s side who had the last laugh on Saturday as MI beat SRH by 20 runs.
