The wait is finally over for the Pakistani cricket fans as Pakistan is all set to host International cricket once again after six long years. The last time a Test-playing nation toured Pakistan was Sri Lanka back in 2009. Sri Lanka was attacked by armed gunmen at Gaddafi stadium in Lahore and six members of the team were injured in the ambush. Since the dreadful attack, Pakistan has played all its home game on foreign soil, especially in Dubai.

Zimbabwe Cricket Board has gracefully agreed for the Pakistan tour and the Zimbabwean team has landed into the city for the thrilling encounter.  Photographer Arif Ali for Getty images captured the above image; where a Pakistani soldier is seen patrolling outside the Gaddafi Cricket stadium ahead of the Zimbabwe high-stakes tour of Pakistan on May 18, 2015.

Pakistan has taken the safety initiative and is trying their level best to ensure the safety of all the cricketers. They have deployed many soldiers prior to the match in the city of Lahore to ensure total safety. Zimbabwe and Pakistan will play two Twenty20 (T20) matches and three One Day Internationals (ODIs) between them which starts on May 22nd. All the matches will be played at Gaddafi stadium in Lahore. Pakistan is persistent about the player’s safety and will hope that this tour might open the gates for more live International cricket action in future for Pakistan.
