Shreyas Iyer to lead India? Will captain India A for two unofficial Test against Australia

Even though Shreyas Iyer missed out a chance for being selected in Asia Cup squad, he is going to lead India A for two tests against Australia.

Shreyas Iyer was not named in Indian squad for the Asia Cup, set to begin September 9. However, on Saturday (September 6), he was named the captain of India A, which is going to face Australia in two unofficial four-day Tests in Lucknow.

The first game is going to be played from September 16-19, and the second match will be held from September 23-26 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. As of now, Shreyas is a part of West Zone in the Duleep Trophy.

Apart from Shreyas Iyer being the captain, wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel has been named his deputy. Dhruv last represented India during the fifth and final Test against England at The Oval in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
