Gill also enters into an elite league of Indian batters

With his second century in the ongoing five-match Test series against England, Shubman Gill has entered an exclusive club of Indian batters to score hundreds in three consecutive Tests against England. The young skipper now shares this rare feat with legends like Mohammad Azharuddin (1984–85), Dilip Vengsarkar (1985–86), and Rahul Dravid who remarkably did it twice, in 2002 and again between 2008 and 2011. Gill had set the tone earlier with a century in Dharamsala during England’s tour of India in 2024, before following it up with stellar knocks at Headingley and now Edgbaston.
