Team India had a very good run in Twenty20 (T20) cricket this year. It all started with a series win in Australia, followed by a series win against Sri Lanka, then the Asia Cup triumph. India had a good run till the semi-final of the ICC World T20 2016, till they lost to West Indies at Wankhede Stadium.
The return of the veterans — Ashish Nehra and Yuvraj Singh, certainly boosted India’s T20 fortunes and during this phase, the MS Dhoni-led side reached to the No. 1 spot in ICC T20 rankings.
Come Indian Premier League, the trio of champion cricketers — Dhoni, Nehra and Yuvraj are divided by camps. While Dhoni leads Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS), Nehra and Yuvraj are part of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Dhoni’s RPS lies at No. 7 position in the IPL points table and SRH win their win over RPS on Tuesday have climbed to the top spot. The most special moment of the match came when Dhoni was batting against Nehra with Pune needing 12 from three balls. He smacked one for six and now with six required from two, and Dhoni on strike, the match had swung in Pune’s favour. He then top-edged one and looked for two. Before Dhoni could complete the second run, Yuvraj had run his national captain out. The moment made a brilliant frame and was well captured by BCCI.
