Jaiswal will not be fielding in the slip area in the upcoming match. In his place, Sai Sudharsan is expected to be given an opportunity in the slip region. While changes in fielding positions are common, the timing and manner of this decision are being seen as a clear message to Jaiswal.

While Karun Nair was already positioned in the slips during the first Test, Sai Sudharsan has now been given the responsibility for the upcoming match. He dropped the catch of Ben Duckett who scored a half-century in the first innings and a century in the second innings. In the first innings, he dropped the catch of Harry Brook who managed to score 99 runs in the first innings. Team India suffered a big setback due to this poor fielding of Jaiswal, as a result India lost the Leeds Test.
