Wellington Firebirds T20 captain Hamish Marshall has won the toss and put Andrew Ellis’s Canterbury Kings in to bat at today’s McDonald’s Super Smash fixture in fine conditions at Christchurch’s Hagley Oval.

The Firebirds have the services of England’s Jade Dernbach and Australian Evan Gulbis, together with Grant Elliott making his first appearance of the season.

Both side are looking for their first win in the competition.
