Indian professional snooker player Aditya Mehta says cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar is a great inspiration and an example for the youngsters of the country.

Tendulkar, who will retire after India's two-match Test series against the West Indies, will begin his preparation with a Ranji Trophy match for his home side Mumbai, against Haryana at Lahli.

Tendulkar, who will retire after playing the second Test (November 14-18) against the West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium here, will play in the Ranji game to warm up for the series.

MCA joint secretary Nitin Dalal told PTI that Tendulkar and pacer Zaheer Khan will play for Mumbai on the October 27-30 Ranji match at Lahli, a small town in Rohtak district in Haryana.

"Yes, Tendulkar and Zaheer are playing against Haryana in the Ranjji Trophy opener for Mumbai," Dalal said.
