Alex Carey (W)c Shikhar Dhawan b Mohammed Shami 18 27 2 0 66.67
7.4
M Shami to A Carey, OUT! GONE! Now Shami strikes and both the Australian openers are back in the pavilion. This is very good, banged in short and it's sharp. Takes Carey by surprise who is hurried into the pull. The ball goes off the top edge and balloons towards mid-wicket. Dhawan settles under it and takes a comfortable catch. Fantastic stuff here from the visitors, a good start for them in this encounter.
Aaron Finch (C)b Bhuvneshwar Kumar 6 19 0 0 31.58
6.6
B Kumar to A Finch, OUT! Bowled 'em! Finch has been undone again and that is another failure for him. His bad form overall as well as at the Adelaide Oval continues. This one is hurled just outside off on a good length and moves into the right-handed batsman after landing. Finch, who is defending and playing along the ground till now, looks to go over the top of mid off with a lofted shot but the ball takes the inside edge and goes on to knock the middle stump. If you remember the previous game too, he was bowled by Kumar with a similar ball coming in. Not a good shot from the skipper, especially when he isn't in good form. India strike early!
Usman Khawajarun out (Ravindra Jadeja) 21 23 3 0 91.3
18.3
K Yadav to U Khawaja, OUT! Run out! A moment of brilliance from Ravindra Jadeja! India pick up another one against the run of play. A flatter one outside off, cut away by Khawaja towards point. Jadeja moves quickly to his left and picks it up and throws it towards the non-striker's end stumps all in one motion. Kuldeep does well to get out of the way of the throw as the ball goes on to knock down the wickets and there is a loud appeal. Khawaja doesn't look too confident. Virat Kohli gives it out already as it is referred upstairs. The replays roll out and... Wow! Khawaja is indeed short by a couple of inches. What a wicket for the Indians, and what a way to get it. The partnership was motoring along really well and an incredible fielding effort has brought it to a premature end.
Shaun Marshc Ravindra Jadeja b Bhuvneshwar Kumar 131 123 11 3 106.5
47.5
B Kumar to S Marsh, OUT! India have got two wickets in the last 3 balls without conceding a run. This has been an excellent over from Kumar. A knuckle ball and he bowls this outside off on a good length, Marsh hits it in the air towards long off. He got the middle of the bat but not the height or distance required. Jadeja at long off takes a simple catch and it brings to end an amazing innings. Shaun has done his job though, has taken Australia to a really good score here.
Peter Handscombst MS Dhoni b Ravindra Jadeja 20 22 2 0 90.91
27.2
R Jadeja to P Handscomb, OUT! It is out! The back foot is just outside the line. Handscomb has to depart and another partnership has been broken by Jadeja just after it touched 50. Delivers this on a length outside off and it turns away, Peter goes for the sweep through mid-wicket but misses. He has dragged his back foot outside the crease and Dhoni takes the bails off, not as swiftly as he usually does but this time it is because he knows that the foot was outside. Handscomb didn't try to bring his foot back but looked to get the bat in. Though it was too late. A huge wicket at this stage of the game, especially because Handscomb is one of the better players of spin in this team. A timely wicket for the visitors.
Marcus Stoinisc MS Dhoni b Mohammed Shami 29 36 3 0 80.56
36.4
M Shami to M Stoinis, OUT! Would you believe it? 56, 52 and this time 55. The third partnership in a row that has ended after crossing the fifty mark. Stoinis is the one to depart this time as he is caught behind by Dhoni. A short of a length delivery outside off, Stoinis goes for the pull but is into his shot too early. The ball takes a thin under edge as it passes the willow and is taken comfortably by MS behind the wickets. Stoinis departs for a decent 29 and India have a timely wicket once more. A good bowling change by Kohli, it must be said. The Australians have to rebuild a new stand once more with just over 13 overs left in the innings.
Glenn Maxwellc Dinesh Karthik b Bhuvneshwar Kumar 48 37 5 1 129.73
47.3
B Kumar to G Maxwell, OUT! Easy catch taken by Karthik at long off. This is good bowling from Bhuvneshwar. Bowls it wide outside off on a length and Maxwell once again reaches out for it and hits it in the air towards long off. He is off balance and does not get enough power to clear the fielder. DK in fact had to come in a little to pouch that. A quickfire knock from Glenn comes to an end, two shy of his half century. A good wicket for India.
Jhye Richardsonc Shikhar Dhawan b Mohammed Shami 2 6 0 0 33.33
48.6
M Shami to J Richardson, OUT! Richardson is the man back in the hut and India pulling things back here. They have conceded only 5 runs and picked up 3 wickets in the last 2 overs. It was full length delivery around off, Richardson tries to go over covers but hits it straight to Dhawan, who takes a regulation catch and brings out his trademark celebration. Shami ends with figures of 10-0-58-3.
Nathan Lyonnot out 12 5 1 1 240
Peter Siddlec Virat Kohli b Bhuvneshwar Kumar 0 1 0 0 0
49.1
B Kumar to P Siddle, OUT! Wickets falling in clusters for Australia here. The Indians are doing extremely well to pull things back in these last few overs. Full on off, Siddle lofts it over cover-point. Virat Kohli out in the deep covers a lot of ground to his left, stretches his hands out and takes a stunning catch.

Rohit Sharmac Peter Handscomb b Marcus Stoinis 43 52 2 2 82.69
17.5
M Stoinis to R Sharma, OUT! This is a massive breakthrough for the Australians. The Hitman has been sent packing. And the wicket has come in good time too. Length ball on off, Rohit camps back and slogs across the line. Gets a top edge which sails over mid-wicket, only as far as Peter Handscomb in the deep though. He settles under it and takes the catch. Good thing for him he was wearing his sunglasses, otherwise the sun was in his eyes.
Shikhar Dhawanc Usman Khawaja b Jason Behrendorff 32 28 5 0 114.29
7.4
J Behrendorff to S Dhawan, OUT! First strike for Australia and it's that of the dangerous Shikhar Dhawan. Fuller and in line of the stumps, Dhawan looks to go big downtown but only skies it as some pace is taken off it. It goes towards mid off where Khawaja settles under it and takes a safe catch.
Virat Kohli (C)c Glenn Maxwell b Jhye Richardson 104 112 5 2 92.86
43.4
J Richardson to V Kohli, OUT! Straight into the hands of Maxwell! Brilliant field positioning from Aaron Finch. It is the huge wicket of Virat Kohli. Is there a twist in the tale? A length ball on the pads, Kohli flicks it off the pads, times it superbly and doesn't bother to keep it down. To his dismay, it goes straight into the bucket-hands of Maxwell who is positioned there at deep mid-wicket. Looks like a lapse of concentration. Huge moment in the game. The 82-run stand has been broken. Virat walks off to a standing ovation but he looks really disappointed. Falls while attempting his favorite shot. India still require 57 off 38 balls.
Ambati Rayuduc Marcus Stoinis b Glenn Maxwell 24 36 2 0 66.67
30.4
G Maxwell to A Rayudu, OUT! End of Rayudu's scratchy knock. Never really got going in this innings. A flighted ball on middle, he advances down the track and tries to heave it across the line. Fails to get the timing right and Stoinis at deep mid-wicket takes the skier safely. The 59-run stand is broken. 139 needed off 116 balls. This match is nicely hanging in the balance.
