COMMENTARY

Right, then! That's it from us for this game. But do join us for the next one as Delhi host Mumbai at the Feroz Shah Kotla. It begins in a short while. See you folks there.
Man of the Match, Jaydev Unadkat says it's brilliant that they've come out on top of the table. Adds that he is happy with the fact that everybody contributed to it and also with his performance today. Mentions that the batting department has been doing well and the talks in the dressing room have been really helpful. Admits that he is really happy now and will look to adapt to different wickets. Ends by saying that their next match is in Delhi and he will be looking to adapt to that quickly as well.
Pune skipper, Steven Smith says that his team adapted really well. Thinks that their score was under par but the bowlers bowled really well. Feels that the stronger boys timed the ball really well. Praises Jaydev Unadkat for his performance and says that he deserved the hat-trick. Adds that the key was to use the longer side of the ground which they did it really well. Hopes to finish in top two.
Hyderabad skipper, David Warner says he isn't too sure what went wrong. Mentions that he is disappointed with the batting order. Stresses the importance of how somebody should go on till the end to try and win these kind of games. Admits they made some errors in judgement towards the end and that's cost them the game. States they're all accountable for their loss, no single person is responsible for it. Credits Jaydev Unadkat for his amazing bowling performance and is annoyed with the kind of wicket they played on today, which was similar to the one when they played against Punjab. Ends by thanking the crowd for their amazing support.
Thirteen runs were needed off the last over but Jaydev Unadkat didn't even give a single run and picked up a hat-trick as well. He finished with the figures of 4-1-30-5! He was well-supported by Ben Stokes, who had another great outing with the ball, picking up a 3-fer. Imran Tahir was the other bowler with a wicket to his name. Overall it was a great team performance from them, which led to this victory.
Pune held their nerve to breach the Hyderabad fortress. After putting to bat first, cameos from Stokes and Dhoni took their team to a decent total. Dhawan and Warner started the chase positively, especially the former. But, after the Indian opener departed, the skipper carried on and along with Yuvraj Singh stitched a 54-run stand. Once he departed, runs started drying up but the Indian veteran still held one end before he holed out.
19.6
Jaydev Unadkat to Siddarth Kaul, no run, A triple-wicket maiden for Jaydev Unadkat. If there was an ideal last over to bowl in an innings, then this is it. Simply outstanding. He serves it on a back of a length outside off, Siddarth Kaul taps it to extra cover and wants the run. There's a slight mix-up and in the end, no run is taken. PUNE WIN BY 12 RUNS!
19.5
Jaydev Unadkat to Siddarth Kaul, no run, Slower length delivery coming in on middle and off, Siddarth Kaul backs away a bit and attempts to push it away on the off side. Misses and the ball goes over the stumps.
Ashish Nehra is the last man in.
19.4
Jaydev Unadkat to Bhuvneshwar Kumar, out, OUT! HAT-TRICK FOR JAYDEV UNADKAT! This is a stupendous over from the left-arm pacer. Wow. He has a 5-wicket haul too and with that, he completes 100 Indian T20 League wickets too. Superb. Back of a length delivery around off, Bhuvneshwar Kumar looks to hit it away but gets it off the splice. Lobs into the hands of Manoj Tiwary at extra cover who runs in a few paces to take it.
Siddarth Kaul is the new man in. Jaydev Unadkat is on a hat-trick. Will he take it?
19.3
Jaydev Unadkat to Rashid Khan, out, OUT! Another one bites the dust! From around the wicket, it's hurled outside off, on a length, Rashid Khan swings at it hard and gets a huge top edge. It skies straight up, Unadkat moves to his right, settles himself under the ball and takes it himself. He's on a hat-trick here now.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar walks out to bat. But it's Rashid Khan who will be on strike.
19.2
Jaydev Unadkat to Bipul Sharma, out, OUT! BIPUL SHARMA IS GONE! Unadkat has his third, it's Stokes again with another catch. Length delivery angling in on the stumps, Bipul slogs over square leg. A lot of height on it, but not enough distance. It's right down the Englishman's throat who takes it in his safe hands. The hosts now need 13 off the final 4 balls.
19.1
Jaydev Unadkat to Bipul Sharma, no run, Dot ball to get things going, big swing and a miss from Bipul. He closes his eyes, probably prays to god that he connects as he swings wildly across the line. To no avail though.

17.6
Jaydev Unadkat to Naman Ojha, out, OUT! Unadkat has his second. Deceives the batsman with the slower one and that's done the trick. On a length outside off, Ojha swings and swings hard. Is a bit early into the shot and gets it off the top edge. Skies over the covers where Ben Stokes takes a good catch. Runs in, settles himself under the ball and pouches it safely. Hyderabad need 22 off 12 balls.

17.1
Jaydev Unadkat to Yuvraj Singh, out, OUT! THAT'S A BIG WICKET! Yuvraj departs and Unadkat strikes on his return into the attack. The southpaw's luck has finally run out. Short and wide outside off, cut away over backward point. Doesn't have the distance on that as Tripathi out in the deep runs to his right to take it. Almost fumbles while catching it but holds on to it in the end. Pune get just the wicket they needed.

Imran Tahir to Yuvraj Singh, 2 runs, THAT'S SAFE! Seems Yuvraj visited the temples yesterday and is reaping the good luck as a result of that. Tossed up from Tahir, Yuvraj plays the paddle but gets a top edge. Lobs over behind and just about clears Manoj Tiwary at short fine leg. He misjudges the ball, doesn't time the leap well and lets it go over him. It goes behind to the deep where he himself chases it down to stop it. 12.5
Ben Stokes to Yuvraj Singh, 2 runs, Almost a run out! Don't think Yuvraj was expecting that throw to come in at his end. It's flicked through mid-wicket off the toe end and the batsmen come back for the second. Unadkat is off balance as he throws this one back in. COMMENTARY

End of over

SRH136/9 (20.0 Ovs)

Hyderabad despite losing Ashish Nehra to injury put up a good collective show. Siddarth Kaul was the pick of the bowlers picking up 4/29. Rashid Khan was once again difficult to pick and gave away just 18 runs in his 4 overs. Bipul Sharma was expensive while Moises Henriques kept it tight. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, however, had a rare off day. The target looks tricky on this two-paced surface but when Hyderabad's top order gets going, no target is big for them. Join us soon for the chase.
After a sloppy start, cameos from Stokes and Dhoni have taken Pune to a decent total. Hyderabad drew first blood when they got rid of the in-form Rahul Tripathi early. Ajinkya Rahane's poor form continued while Steven Smith failed to make most of the reprieves given to him. It looked as if Pune wouldn't even make it to 130 but some big hitting from Ben Stokes and MS Dhoni at the back end helped them reach near 150.
19.6
Siddarth Kaul to Washington Sundar, byes, 1 run, Slower length ball wide outside off, Sundar moves a long way across to paddle but misses. Since it's the last ball, Unadkat rushes to the other end and completes the run. Ojha has a shy at the striker's end but misses. Bye signalled by the umpire. PUNE FINISH ON 148/8!
19.5
Siddarth Kaul to Washington Sundar, no run, No, he can't! Good delivery though. Back of a length on off, Sundar goes for the heave but gets an inside edge onto his pads which dies down on the leg side.
Jaydev Unadkat is the new man in. Siddarth Kaul is on a hat-trick. Can he take it?
19.4
Siddarth Kaul to Shardul Thakur, out, OUT! Over the wicket now, Kaul pitches it on a fuller length, Thakur lofts it towards long off. David Warner is the man there and he takes a good catch above his head. Siddarth Kaul is on a hat-trick now.
Shardul Thakur walks out to bat.
19.3
Siddarth Kaul to MS Dhoni, out, OUT! Fuller length ball around middle, Dhoni goes for the big slog across the line. Gets a faint edge as the ball moves away a shade and it's an easy take for Naman Ojha behind the stumps. The Pune keeper walks back but he's played a real handy knock for his team.
19.2
Siddarth Kaul to MS Dhoni, FOUR, FOUR! From around the wicket, Kaul angles it across. Dhoni makes room, opens his body up a bit and carves it over point to send it across the rope. He's on his merry way here.
19.1
Siddarth Kaul to Washington Sundar, 1 run, Washington Sundar works it away to short mid-wicket for a single.
Siddarth Kaul to bowl the last over of the innings.
Washington Sundar is the new man in.
18.6
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Manoj Tiwary, out, 1 run, OUT! Tiwary is run out. Yorker on off, Tiwary drives it to long off and comes back for the second. Warner throws it back in at the bowler's end as Bhuvi gets there to collect the ball. Dhoni at first takes off but then seeing the throw, goes back in his crease. Tiwary is left in no man's land and he's got no chance of coming back. The replays also showed that Warner in the deep had misfielded a bit but then recovered in time.
18.5
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to MS Dhoni, 1 run, Back of a length on off, angling in, punched to third man for a run.
18.4
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to MS Dhoni, SIX, SIX! Back-to-back maximums for MS Dhoni. Bang! Full, wide, outside off, Dhoni is probably expecting this and he's into this shot with all his might. Slams it over extra cover and gets another biggie to his name.
There's a change in ball as we seem to lost the previous one in the stands.
18.3
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to MS Dhoni, SIX, SIX! Vintage MS Dhoni. Right there for him to hit, straight with decent pace on it, the knuckle ball, he heaves it powerfully over the mid-wicket boundary and into the stands.
18.3
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to MS Dhoni, wide, 1 run, Wide! Arrows a full delivery well outside off, Dhoni leaves it alone. The umpire signals a wide.
Square leg goes back now.
18.2
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to MS Dhoni, FOUR, FOUR! With fine leg and square leg up in the circle, that's a poor ball to bowl. Dhoni knew he just had to get some bat on it and it'll be away. Length ball which is too straight, Dhoni swivels and pulls it over backward square leg for a boundary.
18.1
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to MS Dhoni, no run, Full and wide outside off, Dhoni misses out. Tired smashing it through the covers but got it off the inside half back down the track.

16.6
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to Manoj Tiwary, FOUR, FOUR! Wonderful placement. Tiwary plays that shot really well. It's on the shorter side, he just places this behind point and ends the over with a boundary.
16.5
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to MS Dhoni, 1 run, Single taken by pushing it to the covers. Dhoni is off strike with that.
16.4
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to MS Dhoni, no run, Tight line, on off, MS pushes it on the leg side just beside the track. Bhuvi runs to the ball and throws it back at the striker's end, but ends up hitting the batsman who's in the way.
16.4
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to MS Dhoni, wide, 1 run, Wide! Speared on a fullish length and way outside off, Dhoni leaves it and a wide is called by the umpire.
16.3
Bhuvneshwar Kumar to MS Dhoni, 2 runs, In the air but it's safe! Length delivery around off, Dhoni kneels down to play the slog sweep and it lobs off his gloves to square leg. 16.2

Daniel Christian walks out to bat.
Time for the Time Out.
15.4
Siddarth Kaul to Steven Smith, out, OUT! This time Bipul Sharma holds on to it. Soft dismissal in the end. Steven Smith hasn't been able to make the most of the two reprieves given to him. Extremely full and fired just outside off, The Pune skipper squeezes it out and it's straight into the hands of Bipul at short third man. The other set batsman is gone. Hyderabad are well and truly on top of their game.

14.3
Rashid Khan to Ben Stokes, out, OUT! RASHID KHAN STRIKES! He doesn't need anybody's help this time. Was unlucky to miss out on the previous delivery, but he's got his man now. The dangerous Ben Stokes departs and Hyderabad will be happy to see the back of him. Tossed up leg spinner on middle, Stokes goes for the big slog but misses and the stumps are rattled. Big wicket, this.
14.2
Rashid Khan to Ben Stokes, no run, BIG EDGE AND THAT'S A BIG MISS! Oh, dear... How unfortunate is Rashid Khan there? Bowls a googly on middle and off, Stokes comes down the track and gets an edge which goes back to Naman Ojha. He spills it the first time, but then the ball hits the grill of his helmet as he takes it on the second attempt. That ends the story there itself, the appeal was obviously turned down by the umpire. Ojha had the chance to affect a stumping too but he didn't do it as he thought he's got his man. Probably wouldn't have been able to either as the batsman got his bat inside the crease by then. Stokes survives.

Ends up lobbing it towards mid on. Kaul there misjudges it badly. Expects the ball to come to him but it ends up falling short. All his teammates are very unhappy with his effort.
Ashish Nehra lost his run-up there. Oh, it seems to be the hamstring that has caused this and he is walking off with the physio. He's coming from an injury layoff, appears wasn't exactly fit fully and was rushed into this game. The same injury seems to have come back to haunt him. On his captaincy, he says that he looks to lead from the front but adds that it's a team game and adds that everyone knows what their job is.
TOSS - HYDERABAD WIN THE TOSS AND ELECT TO FIELD.
Hello and a warm welcome for the 44th Match of Indian T20 League 2017, between Hyderabad and Pune in the former's den. The visitors are on a great run, winning 6 out of their last 7 games. They would look to stretch this run but it would be an uphill task against the defending champions at their fortress. Hyderabad are the only team not to lose at home this year and they would look to keep it intact to stand a great chance of qualifying for the playoffs. So two heavyweights taking on each other, sets up to be an enticing contest.

End of over

SRH136/9 (20.0 Ovs)
