Female cricketer Amelia Kerr gained the respect of the cricket fraternity across the world when she bowled a memorable spell of leg-spin while playing for Wellington Blaze against Otago Sparks during the final of the National Twenty20 Championship at the University Oval Dunedin in New Zealand.

The 14-year-old Kerr ended with figures of three for 14 from her quota of four overs, with Wellington chasing the 98-run target with ten wickets and 28 balls to spare. A call to the White Ferns, as the New Zealand Women’s Cricket team is usually known, beckons the youngster as she looks to be the first specialist spinner in the side.
