Strauss decided not to pick Pietersen in the England team despite the latter scoring a career best of 355 not out in for Surrey in a County match recently. Strauss said there were trust issues between him and the ECB and that was the primary reason why he was not picked. He said that he had a conversation with Pietersen about the situation. Strauss says that he does not expect Pietersen to agree with him but Strauss is sure that the star batsman understands.
