Geoff Miller, the national selector announced England's 17-man Ashes squad for the winter's tour of Australia. Three uncapped players have been included — Gary Ballance, Boyd Rankin and Ben Stokes — while Michael Carberry, who has one cap, is also in the squad.
   
There is no place for Graham Onions and Nick Compton. The 17-man squad will be heading to Australia to win their fourth consecutive Ashes. 

Also making a comeback in the English scheme of things is left-arm spinner Monty Panesar.
