Peter Forrest and Michael Clarke guided Australia to set a target of 280 runs after the hosts lost early wickets against Sri Lanka in the 9th ODI of the CB Series at Hobart.
Skipper Clarke, who returned to the side after he had strained his hamstring, slammed his 51st half-century before getting dismissed by Angelo Mathews.
On the other hand, four match old Peter Forrest slammed his maiden hundred. He scored 104 off 138 balls before getting dismissed.
Sri Lanka tried restricting Australia when they took early wickets of David Warner and Matthew Wade. Warner has been struggling throughout the series. He was caught by Kumar Sangakkara when it angled a short length delivery from Farveez Maharoof.
