James Faulkner captured two wickets in three balls to rock New Zealand‘s hopes of posting a competitive score in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 final against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday. Left-arm medium pacer Faulkner had Ross Taylor brilliantly caught by wicketkeeper Brad Haddin for 40 and then bowled Corey Anderson for a duck. Earlier, Mitchell Starc struck a huge blow for Australia with the prized wicket of New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum for a duck. Later on, spinner Glenn Maxwell bowled Martin Guptill with his second delivery as New Zealand lost both their openers in the first 12 overs. Guptill, who made a World Cup record score of 237 not out against the West Indies in the quarter-finals and is the tournament’s leading scorer, was beaten by Maxwell’s turn to be out for 15 leaving the Black Caps a shaky 33 for two in the 12th over.
