Cheteshwar Pujara wins ICC Emerging Player of the Year award

India batsman Cheteshwar Pujara was named as the ICC Emerging Player of the Year for 2013.

India’s top-order batsman Cheteshwar Pujara was named as ICC Emerging Player of the Year on December 13, 2013.

 

Pujara has played 15 Tests so far for India and scored 1,310 runs at an average of 65.50. He has also scored five centuries and three half-centuries with a highest of 206 not out.

 

The right-handed batsman has scored two double centuries in total. He will be now looking to make an impact in the two-match Test series against South Africa starting in Johannesburg on December 18.

 

The previous winner of this award from India was Irfan Pathan in 2004.
