Mike McKenna, Executive General Manager Operations, Cricket Australia speaks to the media in response to Shane Warne's comments about player availability in the Big Bash League.

Warne had earlier gone on to criticise Cricket Australia as James Pattinson was unavailable for selection for Warne's Melbourne Stars. He went on to say that this was 'ridiculous' and 'mind boggling.'

McKenna, however, cleared the situation and said that Warne was unaware of the situation and the rules over availability.

He went on to state that Pattinson was available for selection under the rules of Cricket Australia and was free to be selected but the tournament rukes of the Big Bash League wouldn't allow for the same. This was because when Pattinson was injured and unavailable at the start of the season, the Melbourne Stars had named Daniel Worrall as a replacement.
