England win Test series in India after 28 years

Alastair Cook-led England side broke the 28-year old jinx when they won the four-match Test series against India on Sunday. The visitors took the series 2-1 after the fourth Test ended in a draw. Alastair Cook-led England side broke the 28-year old jinx when they won the four-match Test series against India on Sunday. The visitors took the series 2-1 after the fourth Test ended in a draw. Jonathan Trott scored and Ian Bell scored centuries to take England to a draw, much to the dismay of the hosts. They reached a total of 352 for four when the game was mutually brought to an end. This was the first time in eight years when India suffered a series defeat at home.

For India, Ravichandran Ashwin took two for 99 while Pragyan Ojha and Ravindra Jadeja picked up a wicket each. The visitors had made 330 in the first innings and the hosts had replied with 326 for nine declared.
