Gujarat Cricket Association chief Rajesh Patel is shocked over the state cricketer Amit Singh's involvement in IPL spot-fixing scandal, wherein he was arrested to his role as a bookie.

Former Rajasthan Royals player Amit Singh, who was arrested as one of the bookies, has been suspended by the BCCI.

He was arrested in connection with the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013 spot-fixing controversy. Current Rajasthan Royals players S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan were also arrested.

"Mr. Amit Singh, a registered player with the Gujarat Cricket Association, who has also been arrested by the Delhi Police, has been suspended by the BCCI, pending inquiry," the BCCI statement read.

Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar had referred to Amit as Amit Kumar, a bookie on Thursday but later it emerged that he was in fact a player who turned up in 23 IPL matches before being released by Rajasthan following the last year's season.
