Australia got the better of Sri Lanka by virtue of a sensational unbeaten century by Meg Lanning in match 8 of ICC Women’s World Cup 2017. Chamari Atapattu’s 178-run knock was overshadowed as Sri Lanka’s 257 for 9 was surpassed easily by the defending champions. Australia have now won two games on trot, whereas Sri Lanka still remain win-less in the tournament. In the post-match interview, Lanning was certainly impressed by Atapattu and stated that the Sri Lankan was in a punishable mood. However, she was confident of her side chasing a modest score and wanted to start well. Lanning scored her second hundred in as many appearances in Bristol.
