India bowled out Cricket Australia (CA) XI for just 219 on Day One of the first practice match at Adelaide. The Indian batsmen ended the Day one at 55 for one with Murali Vijay batting on 32 and Cheteshwar Pujara on 13.
Vijay and Pujara provided stability to the innings, and both men will be eager to make the most of the second day. Virat Kohli will be keen on leading from the front in the land where he first scored a Test ton on India’s last tour Down Under. Then, Kohli had been the only bright spot on a horrendous tour for India. Along with him, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma, and Suresh Raina will be hoping to play a big part in India’s Test series.
As for India’s bowling, Bhuvneshwar Kumar struck in what was the first over of India’s tour of Australia, getting opener Matthew Short out caught behind by wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha. Varun Aaron was the most successful bowler for the Indians as he picked up three wickets, including two in three balls, while Karn Sharma — who was expensive at the start — Mohammed Shami, and Bhuvnweshwar ended with the two wickets each.
