Indian cricketers and cricket fraternity has wished the country on the occasion of its 65th Independence Day.

Manoj Tiwary wished by tweeting a poem on his account. He tweeted,”Aajadi ki kabhi shaam nahi hone denge, Sahidon ki kurbani badnaam nahi hone denge, Bachi ho jo ek bund bhi garam lahu ki..

“Tab tak BHARAT maa ki aanchal nilaam nahi hone denge… HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!! JAI HIND :-)”

Noted commentator Harsha Bhogle too used his Twitter account to wish the countrymen on the Independence Day.

He wrote,” 65, young, soaring sometimes, muddling its way through at others, pride and disillusionment as neighbours but still our India.

“Our real stars, those that keep us going, are largely invisible.  Those that we see, in positions of power, must know they let us down.

“But we are still independent, democratic and give our people a chance. Much to feel thankful for on Independence Day.”

Former opening batsman Aakash Chopra expressed, “A lot of people lost their lives for OUR freedom. Let's do OUR bit to justify their ultimate sacrifice. Happy Independence Day :)”

Pacer Sudeep Tyagi stated, “Thousands laid down their lives ,so that our country breathe this day.. Celebrate the free spirit of India… Happy Independence day.”

Former cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar said, “Lets all do our bit, so others say 'tera bharat mahaan' instead of us saying' mera bharat mahaan' HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY !”
