After the irresponsible performance by the Indian cricket team, former Indian cricketer Venkatpathi Raju said there is not too much unity in the team, which was the cause of the negative result. However, Raju feels the England team prepared themselves after losing the first Test and they capitalised on the Indian conditions and did well.

After winning the first Test at Ahmedabad, India became complacent and were given the taste of their own medicine as England bowlers spun India out of the second and third Test at Mumbai and Kolkata respectively. The fourth Test at Nagpur ended in a draw as the visitors went on to win the series 2-1.
