IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla spoke about the venue shift from Chennai to Delhi for the play offs and said that he wanted full strength sides to play in the qualifiers.

The first Qualifier and Eliminator of the Indian Premier League was today shifted to Delhi from Chennai, putting an end to the uncertainty over the venue for the crucial matches.

The decision to shift the play-off matches to Feroz Shah Kotla was taken by the IPL authorities after the Tamil Nadu government stuck to its stand on not allowing the Sri Lankan players to play in the wake of the anti-Sinhalese sentiments in the state.

"The play-offs have been shifted to Delhi from Chennai," a top IPL official told PTI.
