Jayawardene said the Sri Lankan team is keen to carry forward the winning momentum in Friday’s game after beating Australia and India I two successive matches. He also applauded former Australian captain Ricky Ponting’s ODI career, who retired from ODI cricket.

Head to head, both Australia and Sri Lanka have beaten each other once in the competition and with India struggling to stay afloat, they could be the eventual finalists as well.
