Clarke displayed impressive form with the bat in 2012, becoming the highest run-getter in that calendar year. 

He scored four scores in excess of 200. With Ricky Ponting's retirement, Clarke's role in the Australian side have grown and so far he has done exceedingly well.

Clarke went on to win the Test Player of the Year and was an Allan Border Medalist at the Allan Border Medal 2013
